Advisory Notice of a significant training event that may result in a need for NDMS assets. Advisories are for informational purposes only. The Field Training Exercise (FTX) planning is getting ready to shift into high gear. Paul Brooks and Don Norvell are cooking up a great learning experience. We will be setting up and operating the Base of Operations (BoO) and working on Strike Team deployment. Steve Heyano has arranged for AeroMed to fly in with their King Air and is working on Life Guard to get a helicopter. Dont forget to ask your family, friends or anyone that may be interested in joining AK-1 to join us for a BBQ on Saturday August 9 stating around 5:45 PM. If you been to an FTX you know Susan Bury puts on a great feed. Mark your calendars for Saturday & Sunday August 9th and 10th. Exercise briefing starts at 9:00 AM coffee is served around 8:30. Please note that the Municipality of Anchorage has renamed Abbott Loop Rd. It is now Elmore Rd and is now open through Bicentennial park to Tudor Rd.  Meetings are held at the BLM Warehouse in Anchorage, Alaska.
Directions to Warehouse/Training Facility The pin point on the map is the corner of Elmore Rd (Abbott Loop Rd) and BLM Rd. Head south on Lake Otis Parkway, take a left on 68th street. Continue on 68th street to Elmore Rd (Abbott Loop Rd.) Go Right on Abbott Loop Rd. Take the first left, BLM Rd, After turning on to Elmore (Abbott Loop) Rd. This is the pin point on the map. You will see a sign for the BLM Tract Facility at BLM Rd. When it forks, stick to the right. This is a limited access facility and the road may be barred at the fork. We will have someone there to permit you entry if the road is closed. After going through the gate, take the first right which will curve around to the back side of the buildings and give you access to the warehouse area.
