The team is in a normal preparation and training mode. Volunteers PageWelcome to the Alaska 1 Disaster Medical Assistance Team. By having access to this page you have already shown a significant interest in becoming a member of our team. Thank you. At this time you should already have a team member sponsor who will help you with the application process. Your sponsor will also remain available to you until you become comfortable as a full-fledged member of our team. Should you have any questions or concerns please be sure and discuss them with your sponsor. If your sponsor is not able to assist you the entire command staff are available. A list of names, e-mail addresses and contact numbers is available by clicking on this sentence. The single most difficult hurdle in becoming a member of our team is probably completing the paperwork. Once the application packet is completed we consider you a full-fledged member of our team. Regretfully, until your packet has been completed and accepted by the National Disaster Medical System there are certain types of training, such as field training and actual deployments that will remain unavailable. Additionally, a minimum level of training is required before you will be considered deployable. Information and access to the required training is located on the team web site. You will be granted access to the team web site when your application packet has been accepted by our administrative officer.
